Caters for Australians, New Zealanders, Japanese and Canadian nationals below the age of 30 looking to engage in a working holiday in the UK.
It is important to note that this visa is not available to South African nationals. Further details confirmed on our Tier 5 YMS page.
This visa caters for Australians, New Zealanders, Japanese and Canadian nationals below the age of 30 (and unfortunately not available for South Africans) that want to live and work in the UK.
The Tier 5 Youth Mobility Scheme visa was issued for a set duration of 24 months. That is a set start date and a set end date.
Not granted. This Business Visitor visa does not grant settlement rights. Time spent in the UK does not count toward earning British nationality.
Not Permitted. Immediate family members (married like partner and minors) are not permitted to join the main applicant and merely need to apply for their own leisure Visitor visas.
3 weeks. From the date of submission, applicants experience an average of 15 working day processing times. There are means to speed this processing time (at additional cost).
Most of these cases are refused based on applicants demonstrating no intent to return, insufficient or conflicting information. Criminal history is also a major factor that is taken into consideration with these cases.
This visa serves to grant South Africans permission to frequently enter the UK for the duration of its validity (therefore multiple entry is automatically granted). The complication though is that this visa strictly prohibits change of intent once in the UK (therefore applicants cannot try and change their visa status or intent once they get into the UK). Further to this, extension of the permitted stay in the UK is not easily granted.
