As things begin to wind down and South Africans finally begin to relax with year end festivities, we thought we would share some of our office experiences.

As you hopefully know by now, Move Up serves South Africans nationally and internationally from our Cape Town office. Our team is used to handling hundreds of calls and email daily.
As a profession, we are used to dealing with high volumes of people year round. We also pride ourselves in providing professional and reliable solutions. However, we are human and mistakes are made once in a while.
In our office though, we “monitor” each others conversations and it allows us the opportunity to catch each other out when little funny mistakes are made. We have taken this office banter a step further and have begun writing down the funny things we have been caught saying to prospective clients.
To protect the pride of our team members, we have taken the liberty to cover their identities and hereafter refer to them as “consultant”.
Here are our top 10 examples:
1. Consultant answers call and says “Welcome to Movies“. Clearly thinking about their evening plans.
2. Consultant tried to help create awareness of means to speed up the visa process and says “there is an adoptional fast track service”. No option on the adoption.
3. At the end of a long day, one of our consultants said “I think I left the dog out”. This consultant went on to repeat this statement several times, leaving fellow team members in the office confused. Only to find out that the consultant meant to say “I think I left the dot out of the email address”.
4. Consultant answers a call and says “Welcome to Move Up, *consultant name* seaking“. Not sure what they were looking for at the time.
5. Consultant answers a call (different day) and says “Welcome to Move Up, *consultant name* sleeping“. They must have been tired.
6. One of our consultants was trying to proactively address “administration nicemare“. We think they meant nightmare.
7. I personally have been caught out saying “Welcome to my Move Up”. Not as if my personal progress had anything to do with the client.
8. There was a technical case where a discussion of the client “penilty” not being served. Penalty was the term they meant to have.
9. Getting documentation attested, a consultant made reference to “commissioner of stokes”. Not sure why they had to take an oath to become one.
10. Finally, we caught a consultant having a bad day and referring to British citizenship as “spitish itizenship”.
As we reflect on our progress and development, we trust that your year end celebrations are well embraced.
Wishing all our readers, future clients and past clients, a great festive break.
Our office doors remain open next week and we officially close for year end on the 23rd December 2016 and reopen on the 3rd January 2017.
