Move Up services for South Africans

Moving to, working in or travelling to the United Kingdom often involves more than one decision. Move Up connects South Africans, families and employers with specialist teams for UK visas, British citizenship and passports, recruitment, travel and practical relocation support.

Use this page to find the right starting point. Each team focuses on a defined part of the journey, so your enquiry can be handled by people who work in that area.

UK visa support

The Move Up UK Visas team helps clients understand and prepare for UK immigration routes. These can include visiting the UK, joining a partner or family member, studying, working, returning to the UK or dealing with an earlier decision.

Eligibility, evidence and permitted activities differ by route. A suitable starting point is an assessment of your passport, purpose, family or employment facts and intended timing.

British citizenship and passport claims

The British Claims team focuses on British nationality research, citizenship eligibility and passport applications. Family history can be important, but the result may depend on dates and places of birth, marital status, the law in force at the time and whether a status was registered or retained.

The team can help separate the nationality question from the passport process and identify which records are needed to support a claim.

UK jobs and employer sponsorship

Move Up UK Jobs works with candidates and employers. For candidates, this means understanding suitable opportunities and whether a role may align with a UK work route. For employers, it can include recruitment support and the practical requirements around hiring internationally.

A job offer does not automatically create immigration permission. Where sponsorship is required, the employer, role and applicant must meet the relevant rules.

Travel and practical relocation

Move Up Travel Solutions supports the practical side of an international journey. Depending on the service required, this may include travel planning, relocation preparation and connecting clients with specialist providers for the parts of a move that sit outside an immigration application.

Support for employers and corporate moves

Businesses may need several services to work together: finding candidates, assessing immigration routes, planning an international assignment and helping an employee relocate. Move Up can route each part to the appropriate specialist while keeping the overall objective clear.

How the Move Up process starts

  1. Tell us the outcome you need. Explain whether the enquiry concerns a visit, family move, citizenship claim, job, employee or practical relocation.
  2. Share the facts that affect the route. These may include nationality, family history, destination, timing, employment and previous applications.
  3. Move to the correct specialist team. The enquiry is routed according to the service required.
  4. Confirm scope and costs. Before paid work begins, ask for a written explanation of the service and which government or third-party costs are separate.
