Your UK timeline
UK visa days and absence calculator
See the time to your recorded permission end date, count completed days outside the UK and prepare the right questions about extension, settlement or citizenship.
How the calculator counts
It counts full calendar days between a departure and a return, excluding both travel dates. It rejects overlapping or incomplete trips. Calendar-year windows account for leap years; a rolling 12-month window is not automatically 365 days.
The record-end countdown, continuous-residence reference and nationality residence references answer different questions. The 180-day reference applies here only to supported main-applicant routes. It is not a visitor allowance or a blanket rule for family visas and dependants. Exceptions and historical grants need review.
A settlement milestone is a planning date based on the confirmed start you enter, not a finding that you qualify. The citizenship view separately counts the relevant period, the final year and recorded absences on the look-back date. It cannot prove physical presence or all nationality requirements.
Rules checked 3 November 2026. Proposed policy changes are not treated as enacted rules. Verify the rules again before making an application.
Costs and your next step
Build an estimate from Move Up’s published fee CSV. If your extension, ILR or nationality case is not priced there, request an itemised quote. Time counted in this tool does not by itself set a government fee or Move Up service charge.
