Wanting to be closer to your child is a meaningful reason to explore your options. The immigration question depends on whether you are seeking family life with a child, a temporary visit or long-term care as an adult relative.
A parent route and an adult dependent relative route are not the same. The child's status, age and family circumstances matter, while a care-based enquiry involves a different set of considerations.
Sending money or providing accommodation can be part of a family's circumstances, but it does not automatically create a route to live in the UK. The relationship and the basis for the proposed move need to be considered together.
