Passport preparation and the issuing authority's processing are separate parts of the journey. A first passport, renewal or complex nationality case may not follow the same timetable.
Document availability, identity questions and requests for more information may affect progress. A processing estimate does not necessarily include the time needed to establish an uncertain nationality position.
A desired departure date cannot determine when a passport will be issued. It is helpful to discuss travel expectations alongside the type of application and any unresolved questions, rather than rely on someone else's renewal experience.
