As existing Ancestry permission approaches its next milestone, extension and settlement can raise different questions. Time spent in the UK does not make either outcome automatic.
How are the two decisions different?
An extension continues time-limited immigration permission. Settlement concerns permission to remain without that time limit and has its own conditions. The best question to investigate depends on your history and current circumstances.
What can affect that review?
Work history, residence, absences and changes involving family members may matter. An earlier successful visa application does not replace a review of the circumstances at this later stage.
